Einer meiner "All time favourites" - Spur of the moment von Dave Weckl.

Endlich mal in einer coolen Aufnahme verewigt. Danke auch an Eric für die tolle extra Kameraarbeit.

"101 Shuffle" von Dave Weckl - gespielt von Sascha. Schon immer eines meiner Lieblingsstücke, hier nun als Drumvideo verewigt, super.

Das war nicht einfach, denn bis auf wenige Takte für die Solobreaks gibt es keinen Click, oder Metronom für das Timing. Also musste ich alle Kleinigkeiten des Playbacks auswendig lernen. Schlussendlich habe ich alles festgenagelt und konnte noch "Feeling" und "Chops" dem Song beisteuern.... stolz.

Hi everybody, here is a clip of warming up for a drum trackin session in my homestudio. It´s really the first minute of sitting down on the drums, ah, I love it.

Acoustical South am 06.06.2020 im Livestream des Kulturladen TV. Für euch haben wir den Song "Playlist" herausgenommen". Enjoy!

Luca and Gian-Andrea did a GREAT JOB!!! Thank you for your commitment, great playing.

First I transcribed the original drum part. Then I programmed all the meter changes into the cubase. After learning the drumparts note by note I recorded them to the click without any guitars. The next step was to send the drums to Luca. He put all the guitars on top and passed it to Gian-Andrea. (puh, the drums were right...) He did the bass & video in ONE TAKE, as you can see here... awesome! Then I got back all the giutarparts, loaded them into cubase, erased my original Drums and recorded it while shooting the drumvideo in one take (no edits). I also spent a week mixing and mastering the track, and another week to edit the clip - that´s it :-)

Yeah, one of the greatest rocksongs of all time - "Stand up and shout" by the greatest singer "Ronnie James Dio".

New recorded by this "International Conspiracy" with Darren Crisp (USA) on vocals and he did a fabulous job. Hey, he sang Dios vocals in one take!

Also with Rene Müller and Andreas Rossatti (GER) on guitars. Proud to do it their way, but a little like Vivian Campbell. And Stephan Mankiewicz (GER) on the Rickenbacker Bass groovin hard like Jimmy Bain. Sascha Kaisler on the drums gave all the Vinny Appice he had in his drumming. Proud to play his grooves and fills, it was a challange!

Ein cooler "Polyrhythmus" auf die Bassdrums in einem Groove verteilt. Dazu gibt es die passende "Mucke" im "5/4"-Takt.

Alle gezeigten und gespielten Beispiele findet ihr als PDF und zum freien Download hier auf der Webseite. Die passenden Playalongs sind ebenfalls im Downloadpackage enthalten!

Dieser Groove verlangt euch einiges ab - Koordination, Doublebass, eine ungerade Taktart, Polyrhythmus zwischen Händen und Füssen, exaktes Timing. Eine Herausforderung, die Ihr mit diesen Erklärungen und Downloads meistern könnt. Legt los!

"3 über 4" - klingt sehr cool mit einem "Funky Groove".

Die Fussglocke spielt in einer "punktierten Achtel" zum zweitaktigen Groovepattern. Das ergibt 6 Takte bis sich der Rhythmus wieder auflöst. Der Sound ist halt klasse!

Das Konzept der "Metrischen Modulation" anhand eines Songs der Band "Elyria". Das ist ein abgefahrenes Groove- und Timingkonzept wie es Bands wie "Dream Theater" oder Trommler wie Virgil Donati gerne spielen. Der Background zur Metrischen Modulation ist die Polyrhythmik "3 über 4".

One of my favourites is "CHANGIG" by "SIGMA", featuring Paloma Faith. Great song, great melodies, great GROOVE ;-)

I just added some Ghostnotes and some "Amen"-breaks here and there. Go for it!

Yes! Playing one of my own songs infront of an audience is challenging but fun. This one is called "JOHN5"... Check out the time signature. Recorded live@drumclinic Lüscher Musik/CH.

The guitar solo is played by Luca Princiotta and he´s done a great job! I still get goosebumps when I hear it :-)

1/5 "The five stroke roll"

Der "5er Wirbel" kommt aus dem "Rudiment Drumming" ("Marschtrommeln"), ist aber für uns "Drumset Drummer" ein cooles Mittel um meine Grooves und Fills enorm "aufzuwerten".
Hier gibt´s in ca. 6 Minuten die Erklärung zum Spielen des Wirbels, die Technik für die Hände, das Verwenden in einem Groove und in Fill Ins.

2/5 "Swing"

Der "Swingrhythmus" begegnet uns Drummern im "Jazz" oder "Rock´n´Roll" Grooves der "Swingin´Sixties". Dieses "Pattern" zu kennen ist sehr hilfreich und macht unser Schlagzeugrepertoire um einiges größer.
Hier gibt´s in ca. 6 Minuten die Erklärung zum Spielen des "Swing", die Technik für die Hände und als "Special" den "Paradiddle-diddle"... check it out!

3/5 "Doublebass"

Das klingt gut! Durchlaufende Bassdrums und dann schnell hier und da ein paar Verdopplungen eingebaut. Wie das geht? Schaut euch diesen "Quickie" an...
Nach knapp 5 Minuten wisst Ihr Bescheid wie Ihr euer "Doublebass"-Spiel enorm aufwerten könnt!

4/5 "Paradiddle"

Willkommen in der Welt der "Paradiddles". Diese Schlagkombinationen aus "Einzel"- oder "Doppelschlägen", mit Händen oder Füssen, lassen unser Drummerherz höher schlagen.
Hier zeige ich euch in über 6 Minuten wie Ihr den "Singel Paradiddle" als "Fill In" oder natürlich auch als Groove spielen könnt. Als "Special" sogar ein "Samba", cool!

5/5 "Flamaccent"Schon mal was von "Rudiments" gehört? Oder wie man diese am Drumset gebrauchen kann? "Flamaccent" ist ein ziemlich cooles Teil das von vielen Drummern gespielt wird. In knapp 6 Minuten zeige Ich euch die Technik, dann Fill In und natürlich den allgegenwärtigen Groove. Mit so einem "Flam" im Handsatz klingt das schon abgefahren...
